How did My Contents start?

The director of My Contents thought he was being pro-active by recording the details of his personal belongings on a spreadsheet using his laptop. At the end of 2007 his house was broken into and thieves stole pretty much everything but the kitchen sink – including his laptop. Without his laptop he had a tough time remembering details like purchase dates, serial numbers and pricing for all of his things. Although he had adequate insurance cover, unfortunately his insurance company required these details in order for a claim to be made. That’s how My Contents came about and we hope that by using our free service we can prevent the same thing happening to you.

Why are we free you ask?

We think the internet is best when services are free for the consumer and that’s how we’d like My Contents to stay. However everything does come at a price so that's why from time to time there will be advertising within our site. All we ask is that you visit our sponsors to help us keep My Contents free and enable us to make the website even better to use.

Are My Items safe?

For sure! Your details are kept safe in our database and will NOT be given to or sold to any third party without your knowledge. In addition, we don’t record your address details.
